F.I.B Typeface Magalog

December 2017
A semester long group collaborative project, involving creating a 3D package design or creative catalog intended to demonstrate and present premium typefaces to potential buyers. Assumed to be consumed primarily by other creative professionals, designers, and those that work in communication and marketing, we were tasked with conceptualizing, designing, and producing a physical package that would be appealing to such a niche demographic.
Themed as a police documented crime investigation brief, our solution, was to present the type categories as known criminal organizations and characterize each font as suspects. It frames Beatrice Ward's 'Crystal Goblet' essay and presents 23 well known typefaces, each along with a description and critique written by other cohort classmates.
As a team project, each member used unique skills and knowledge of print and product design to take on certain responsibilities and areas of production, while remaining equalized in workload. I was primarily responsible for producing the pages for Elegant Fonts dossier, as well as the ransom notes for each of the five, in total.
